In the Last article on JT, I wrote that the Prime MInsiter had called a general election. The Motion was voted on in the commons on Wednesday and the decision has been made. The 2017 UK General Election is underway and will conclude on June the 8th.
What Does this mean?
it means that until June 8th Parlement has been concluded and dissolved. We technically don’t have a government at the moment.
From now to the 8th of June the canvassing and campaigning have begun. The leaders touring the nations and our local MPs are going door to door hoping to convince voters to vote.
What can we expect from this election?
The main topic will be Brexit and the Withdrawing from the EU, Each Party is now putting together their plan for Brexit. It’s going to be an unpredictable election.
What is Going to Happen between now and June 8th?
From now to the 8th of June a series of events will be happening, the first which is due in the next few weeks is the Manifesto’s being published. A Document outlining each parties respective plans. The next big event hopefully going to happen is the debates. Where the Leaders will argue their case in front of an audience
And finally the big day will happen, where the polls will open from 07:00 to 22:00 so we can vote.
